WHO WE ARE

The University of Calgary Firearms Association is a welcoming student community dedicated to promoting safe, responsible, and inclusive participation in shooting sports. We provide opportunities for students of all experience levels to learn about firearm safety, develop their skills, and take part in recreational and competitive shooting.

Through educational sessions, range events, and partnerships with local organizations, we aim to foster confidence, sportsmanship, and responsible firearm use. Whether you're an experienced competitor or completely new to the sport, you'll find a supportive community ready to help you learn, connect, and get involved.

AHEIA Calgary Firearms Centre

An 80-acre outdoor shotgun facility operating year-round.

It offers Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays, and 5 Stand, and is the busiest public shotgun range

of its kind in North America. We use this facility for singles trap events.

Calgary Shooting Centre

An indoor range with two 25-metre gallery ranges and computer-controlled target retrieval

systems. Here we shoot rifles and handguns at paper targets, with adjustable distances

set electronically.

Homestead Shooting Facility (BTSA)

An outdoor range in Kananaskis operated by the Buffalo Target Shooters Association.

It supports handgun, rifle, and pistol-caliber carbine shooting. Target type (steel or paper)

depends on the range and firearm we're using. The facility accommodates practical shooting
